Installation November 5th 2011 |
||
Visit of the Grand Master MW Bro G. Dunlop accompanied by the Grand Secretary RW Bro Barry Lyons The Lodge was honoured with the prescence of the Grand Master accompanied by the Grand Secretary on the occasion of our Installation meeting on the 5th of November 2011 in Richmond North Yorkshire. As Masonic protocol dictates we approached the office of the PGM of the Province of Yorkshire North & East Ridings, to inform him of our Grand Masters visit. Unfortunately the PGM was unable to attend in person due to other Masonic commitments. We were informed though, that he would be represented by WBro David Marsh, Assistant Provincial Grand Master. This was indeed a great honour for us to have such a distinguished brother representing the PGM in our host Province. The morning of the Installation came, and the first person to arrive apart from myself who opened the building, was the Master Elect WBro Brian Wilson. It is a tradition in “St Pats” for the incoming Master to provide Guinness and Whiskey for the troops and visiting brethren. So the first task was to unload his car and clear a space for the refreshments. Around 11:00 the visitors started to arrive and were given a small dram of whiskey or cup of tea/coffee to quench their thirsts. Some of the visitors had travelled from all over the country. We were especially pleased with a contingent of some 15 brethren from North of the border. Over the past 2 years we have built up a relationship with Lodge Barns O Clyde 1018 SC from Clydebank and it was good to see so many of them. At around 11:30 the MW Grand Master arrived with the Grand Secretary who had been accommodated with our senior Grand Lodge Officer VWBro Don Wilson PGSD. This was the first time some of our members had met the GM and it left a lasting impression on them.
